Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Hon Halilu Abubakar Mazagane, has picked the Peoples Democratic Party expression of interest and nomination forms for the Yobe South Senatorial District election.
Hon Halilu Mazagane who disclosed this shortly after he collected the senatorial forms confirming his latest intentions. I will like to inform my people, supporters that, I officially obtained the forms for Senate. I will deliver with your usual support.
He said that the February 16 Presidential election offers a very rare opportunity for the northeast to produce a president in the person of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He described that, some people think that the northeast can never be able to produce someone that will have the golden opportunity of becoming the president of Nigeria.
“They thought no one from the northeast would come out to take the challenge many unpatriotic people wished that a day like this will never come where one of us, a father, a leader from North East, will contest for the position of the president.”
He added that where as Nigeria is now the poverty capital of the world, the northeast is the poverty capital of Nigeria, a situation that will change when Atiku take over.
Mazagane added that, ” One of us, our leader from the North East, and who is getting a huge acceptance wherever he launches his campaign, is brought to power.” he emphasized.
Furthermore, he stated, “It is now left to us, the people of the northeast, to come out en masse to vote for him. That’s the only way to show our total support for a better tomorrow, and whoever votes otherwise has shown that he is not after the development of the North East.
“I want to make it clear to you, we are not campaigning for Atiku just because he is from our zone, no, we are campaigning and supporting him because of our belief that he will work for a better Nigeria.
According to him, He is the only one that will bring an end to hunger, poverty, insurgency, especially Boko Haram, Bandits, kidnapping and also one who will make education a top priority. He will provide jobs to our youths.”
Halilu argued that Atiku will work to unite the country and return it on the path of development while taking a swipe at the Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, who he described as a Failure.
He called on members of the party across to give him a chance to lead them by voting him en masse in the forthcoming general elections slated for February 2023.
He urged those who had just attained the required voting age of 18, to visit the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office in their respective wards and local governments to go and register for their PVC.
His words: “The PVC is the power of the people. It is the tool they need to change and renegotiate their future. It is their power to ensure that their next Senate would be someone who cares about them and is sensitive to their needs.
