Youth in Lugbe, Abuja gives AEDC one week ultimatum to improve electricity supply

Federal Housing Authority, (FHA) Youth Association Lugbe, FHA-YAL has given the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, (AEDC) a one week ultimatum to improve power supply to the area.

President of the association, Mazi George Chidi said he has written a letter to AEDC and copied the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) Lugbe on the demand.

He said the youth association is demanding for electricity distribution to be improved in the area or they embark on peaceful placard carrying protest in the office of AEDC in Lugbe.

According to him, “We are compelled to forward to you our decision to protest lack of light in Federal Housing Authority Estate Lugbe.

“Your office is aware of numerous complaints from this community which has frustrated our day to day desire to engage in self-employed profitable venture using electricity, which is thwarting our efforts towards earning a living for ourselves and our families.

“Epileptic power supply is leading to noise pollution from generators, lack of income from investment and the continues darkness at night which is increasing possibility of danger against the residents from miscreants,” he said.

Most of the respondents and placards are demanding for increase electricity in the area.

The Chairman enjoined AEDC to provide stable power in Federal Housing Authority Lugbe to complement peace, security and socio-economic growth in the community.

Mazi George Chidi said that if power supply didn’t improve within one week, the association will have no option than to commence daily protest in solidarity to their demand.
