Youths get skill acquisition training in Kaduna

The Southern Kaduna Development Forum (SOKADEF) has graduated about 1000 youths that participated in a one-year skill acquisition training in eight local government areas of Southern part of Kaduna State.
According to the group, the training is under SOKADEF’s “One Million Youth Self-Help Empowerment Scheme in Southern Kaduna,” aimed at increasing productivity of the Southern Kaduna People through creation of enabling environment for human capital and social safety-nets.
Speaking during the graduation in Kafanchan, the initiator of the programme and Founder of SOKADEF, Dr Daniel Rikichi Kajang said they are also working on innovative proposals, building partnership for strengthening career exploration and skills development for Southern Kaduna youth to remove the barriers for self-actualization of the youth’s dream.
While encouraging the beneficiaries to engage in small-scale businesses and participate in cooperatives for economic growth, he added that, “We should emphasise the positive gains of government rather than dwelling on negative issues and setbacks.”
Speaking, an educationist, Dr Ben Yayock said Southern Kaduna is the most fertile land yet least developed.
