The Young Peoples Party (YPP), has adopted Mr Sammy Ajufo as its governorship candidate in Enugu State for the 2019 election.
Ajufo was the only candidate that picked the party’s form for the governorship poll.
The party also adopted Mr Eneje Okechukwu for senatorial position for Enugu West; Mr Idoko Kenneth for Igboeze North and Udenu, while Mr Ugwu Francis was adopted for Enugu North senatorial zone.
The party has only two candidates for House of Representatives contests -Mr Azubuike Okonkwo for Nsukka/ Igboeze South and Mr Ozioma Ani for Enugu North/ South Constituency.
Speaking after the exercise, Ajufo thanked the party and its members for giving him the governorship ticket.
“I am elated to have been given the ticket by the party members and I know that it is a huge task but I will not disappoint them.
“Well, It is a privilege and not a right as there are many who are capable of contesting for the post but they resolved to pick tickets for senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly,” he said.
The candidate assured the party that he would ensure that he emerged victorious in the governorship election. (NAN)
