Yuletide: Anambra business mogul distributes rice to 200 widows, elderly

Business mogul, High Chief Hamilton Ezeonu, the Ikemba, Nnobi and his wife Lolo (Dr) Thelma Ezeonu, have distributed bags of rice to over 200 widows and elderly in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The beneficiaries who included elderly men in the three quarters of Nnobi were elated by the rare display of love and magnanimity by the couple.
Dr Mrs.Ezeonu who spoke after the event said they just wanted to contribute their little way to spread love among the people especially this season.
She said their decision to give does not in any way implies that they are wealthy or have more than enough but it was in the spirit of sharing with our brothers and sisters.
She said if people learnt to share with their neighbours no matter how little, it would go along way to reduce hunger and hardship in the society.
Dr Ezeonu then challenged others to share with their neighbours not only to reduce hardship but to equally spread love among the members of the community especially this season.
She promised that as long as God keeps them alive they would not hesitate to be their brothers and sisters’keeper by continuing with the programme next year.
The Community Leader of Nnobi, and coordinator of the event, Lady Ifeyinwa Nnekwulugo, was full of praises for the commitment of Ikemba and Lolo Ezeonu to lift the poor and the needy this period.
Nnekwulugo who is the Supervisor for Agriculture in Idemili South Local Government Area called on the rich and wealthy individuals to share part of their wealth with the less privileged as a way of reducing poverty and hunger in the society.
Some of the beneficiaries were full of praises for Ikemba Nnobi and his wife Dr.Thelma for this rare of display of humanity.
Mrs Nnenna Umeh, one of the beneficiaries said the sharing of rice to widows and less privileged was “indescribable’, saying that she least expected it.
Ufod,uTheresea who also expressed her happiness prayed for God’s blessings on the family since they have decided to bless the widows with part of their resources.
On his part, Rev.Father Stephen Ezenwagu, lauded Ikemba Nnobi for the various developmental projects he has been pioneering in the community
He was particularly grateful to the High Chief for the Ikemba Boulevard road which was tarred by Chief Ezeonu, saying that he was happy to see it nylon tarred when he came back to the village.
The priest also lauded Ikemba for empowering widows and the elderly from three quarters of Nnobi with bags of rice,saying that will go a long way to cushion the hardship the people were experiencing.
Rev. Father Ezenwagu prayed that God will continue to bless and replenish Chief Ezeonu and his family from the sources they were getting the fund they use to empower people.
