Yuletide: Gombe Governor releases N1.6b for gratuity arrears, directs payment of December salary to civil servants

In order to ensure that retired civil servants in the state enjoyed the Yuletide season, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved and directed for the immediate release of the sum of N1.6bn.
The amount is to be paid as gratuity arrears to all benefitting retired civil servants ahead of the yuletide season.
The disclosure was made by the Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Gombe in a telephone conversation.
He also said that the Governor had since directed for the payment of December 2022 salaries and wages of all categories of Civil Servants in the state including local government employees.
According to him, “As is the practice of the Governor since he came on board to pay salaries during festive seasons, he has again directed for the payment of December salaries to enable civil servants especially Christians celebrate to Christmas and New year in a joyful atmosphere.”
The Governor’s Media aide expressed optimism that as at today, Friday, every civil servant in the state and LGAs must have received his or her salary payment to be able to enjoy the festive season.
He then called on the civil servants to reciprocate the gesture by redoubling their efforts and remain committed to an improved civil service which is one of the priorities of the Inuwa Yahaya led APC administration.
