The leadership of Zaar Development Association (ZDA) has tendered unreserved apologies to the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass over the attack on their convoys by hoodlums while on the way to Bogoro for the 21st memorial anniversary of late Baba Gonto last week Friday.
The ZDA also apologized to Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and other functionaries for the embarrassment caused by the incidence stating that it was caused by disgruntled elements in the area.
It also challenged Bauchi State Police Command to quickly and swiftly get to root cause of the violent attack by the yet to be identified hoodlums leading to a number of deaths and destruction of properties aftermath of the 21st memorial anniversary of late Baba Peter Gonto held between Thursday and Friday, 30th and 31st December, 2021.
The Zaar Development Association (ZDA) which though agreed that there were deaths and destruction of properties mainly houses, cars and others, stated that it is not in the position to make such confirmation.
Isuwa Galla confirmed that houses of the eldest son of late Baba Gonto and one of his sisters were razed down and in the process he was seriously burnt and is receiving medical attention in a health facility in Abuja.
Unconfirmed reports have it that at least 5 people were killed during the violent attack by the hoodlums while houses, cars and other valuables were utterly destroyed by the hoodlums who attacked personalities who were on their way to attend the event.
All efforts to make Bauchi State Police Command to react to the report failed as the PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili refused to respond to messages sent to his mobile line neither did he pick up the phone when he was called for 3 days by our Correspondent, the only response he gave was, “In a meeting send tex”.
Addressing Journalists at the NUJ Press Center late Tuesday evening, ZDA National President, Engnr Isuwa Galla said that the violence was very unfortunate and a setback to the development of Sayawa nation calling on the Police to investigate and bring out the truth.
Isuwa Galla who took time to narrate how the event was put together however regretted that what was supposed to be a celebration of a worthy life was turned violent by unscrupulous and selfish people who were only after their gains politically not minding what damage it will do to the Sayawa nation.

He explained that the event was organized with the full support and consent of the entire family of Baba Gonto in collaboration with the ZDA as against the insinuation that the convener singlehandedly put the event together.

The ZDA  President stated that, “We want to use this medium to profusely apologize to the Governor of Bauchi State, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, Emir of Dass, Alh Usman Bilyaminu Othman, the entourages of their Royal Highnesses, Representative of the Governor, the government and people of Bauchi State and the celebrated Gospel singer, Dr Panam Percy Paul who was the guest artist, whose instrument and that of others were burnt to ashes”.

The ZDA then called on all Sayawa sons and daughters as well as the entire people of the state to remain calm and law abiding as they go about their normal businesses stating that, “for every person who is Aggrieved by the incidence of 30th and 31st December, 2021, we  are very sorry, please, get soothed”.
