1 dead, 4 injured in Adamawa cattle market clash
Adamawa Police Command has confirmed the killing of one person while four others were injured during a clash at Ngurore Cattle Market in Yola South Local Government Area of the state.
The Command Acting Spokesman, DSP Habibu Musa, told newsmen on Thursday in Yola that the cause of the clash, which occured on Wednesday, was still being investigated.
“All I can say for now is that one person was killed and four hospitalized for injuries sustained in the clash,” Musa said.
However, a resident of Ngurore, who simply identified himself as Ladan, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident occurred when some herdsmen who came to the market identified some cows on sale as part of their herds that were rustled.
“It was during argument on ownership that fight broke out between herdsmen and cattle dealers,” Ladan said. (NAN)
