1000 persons begin new life in N-HYPPARDEC’s Youth Transformation Programme in Kebbi

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has commended the National Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) for distributing start-up kits to 1,011 graduates in the state.

The governor, represented by the Kebbi State Head of Civil Service, Malami Muhammad Shekare, spoke at the flag-off ceremony of the initiative under the N-HYPPADEC Youth Transformation Programme (YTP) held at the Presidential Lodge, Birnin Kebbi, on Thursday.

Governor Idris praised N-HYPPADEC for its dedication to youth empowerment, describing the programme as a beacon of hope for the state’s unemployed youths while reaffirming Government commitment to collaborating with agencies to create opportunities for young people.

The Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, Katukan Yauri, highlighted the significance of the programme in combating unemployment and fostering economic growth.

“In this challenging economic period, this initiative demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to creating sustainable opportunities for our youths,” Yelwa stated.

He revealed that the programme trained 1,011 youths in Digital Economy, Fashion and Beauty Industry, Agriculture and Food Services, Technical and Construction Trades, stressing that monitoring mechanism had been activayef place to ensure beneficiaries use the provided materials for the intended purpose.

In a goodwill message, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. George Akume, represented by Alhaji Aliyu Suleiman Mashegu, applauded N-HYPPADEC for its impactful youth empowerment programmes, noting similar successes in Plateau, Kogi, and Kwara states.

He assured that the Federal Government would continue addressing youth empowerment through agencies like NDE, SMEDAN, and ITF.
