2023: Galadima emerges PDP candidate for Nasarawa West Senatorial District, scores 152 votes

Galadima Umar of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has emerged winner of the just concluded senate primaries for Nasarawa West Senatorial District.

He scored 152 votes cast by 200 delegates to defeat three of his co contestants Alhaji Aliyu Tafida Ahmed, Honourable Weibey Angama and Samuel Anjugu, who scored 17 ,12 and zero votes respectively.

Declaring the results, the returning officer, Barrister Ogaza Denis, said Galadima Umar having scored the highest numbers of votes cast is hereby declared winner of the election.

Reacting, Honourable Weibey Angama who came third position in the votes casted promised to give the winner of the election the needed support to ensure victory the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the general election come 2023.

“I am very pleased with the conduct of the election as it is transparent and fair without ranchor.I will devote my support and every thing in support of our candidate whom God has chosen to as winner in this election”, Angama said.

On his part, the winner of the primary election, Galadima Umar, thanked the delegates and his party for conducting themselves in a very matured way .

“Let me sincerely appreciate my colleagues who contested along with me and to assure them that i will be willing to work with them at all times and anywhere for the progress of PDP in our constituency, the state and at the national level”, he added.

Earlier, the chairman board of trustees of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Walid Jibrin, described the process of the exercise as very peaceful, matured and fair.

He urged all the contestants and the delegates to be firm and focus in order to return the PDP to power at all levels
