20th Abuja International Trade Fair ends as participants recount impressive outing

The 20th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) came to a close with a resounding call for collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in business, as the 1st Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, commended participants, exhibitors, and stakeholders for making the fair a landmark success.

Speaking on behalf of the ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, at the closing ceremony held at the BABA Feast Tent, Prof. Adesugba described the 13-day fair as “highly successful, bigger, and more impactful than previous editions.”

He noted that the event provided an exceptional platform for start-ups, SMEs, and multinational corporations to showcase innovations, network, and expand their market reach.

Reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to trade, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, Prof. Adesugba stated, “For two decades, we have consistently driven initiatives that promote trade, business growth, and sustainable economic development in the FCT and across the nation.”

He highlighted the Chamber’s four specialized Centres, the Abuja Trade Centre (ATC), Business, Entrepreneurial Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre, Policy Advocacy Centre (PAC), and the Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC), as vital platforms supporting entrepreneurship, capacity building, policy reforms, and conflict resolution for business prosperity in an evolving economy.

Prof. Adesugba also lauded the contributions of various trade groups, including oil and gas, transport, manufacturing, SMEs, law and development, and climate change, describing them as indispensable partners in fostering collaboration and advancing policies that support the business community.

He extended heartfelt appreciation to exhibitors, sponsors, and participants for their dedication, while giving special recognition to the ACCI Executive Committee and Council, the Director General, Mr. Agabaidu Jideani, and the management team for their tireless efforts in delivering a memorable 20th edition. He further acknowledged the media for their extensive coverage and support in amplifying the fair’s vision.

Looking ahead, Prof. Adesugba expressed optimism that the 21st Abuja International Trade Fair in 2026 will be “bigger, better, and even more fulfilling,” assuring that ACCI remains steadfast in advancing business interests and national economic development.

The highlight of the closing ceremony was the presentation of awards to outstanding exhibitors and participants for their innovation and contributions.

In his closing remarks, ACCI Director General, Mr. Agabaidu, thanked all stakeholders for their enduring partnership and officially announced that the 21st Abuja International Trade Fair will take place from September 26 to October 6, 2026.
