2,517 inmates freed in 3 years in Kano

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has pardoned 2,517 inmates since his administration came to  power three years ago.
The governor pardoned 317 inmates in the latest amnesty.
The number was made known in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Alhaji Abba Anwar.
The Press Secretary said the gesture was aimed at complementing the federal government efforts in decongesting prisons across the country.
According to the statement, Governor Ganduje, who witnessed the release of some of the inmates at Kano Central prison in Kurma, called on them to change their attitudes in their future lifes.
