Nasarawa Pensioners inaugurate women desk, charge them to be proactive

The Nigerian Union of Pensioners women desk, Nasarawa State Chapter have been charged to be proactive in the discharge of their responsibilities for the progress of the association.
Mr. Hudu Abdullahi the state chairman of the union gave the charge while inaugurating the state women desk of the Union in Lafia, the state capital Wednesday.
Abdullahi, who expressed satisfaction with the effort made by the women retirees towards participating in the activities of association, noted that the initiative would go a along way to enhance gender equality.
He then used the medium to appreciate Governor Abdullahi Sule for priority pensioners administration in the state through regular payment of monthly pension and quarterly remittance of gratuity to retirees in the state hence the need to reciprocate gesture by coexisting peacefully and shun anything capable of tarnishing the image of the association.
Earlier, the secretary general of the Union represented by the assistant secretary general, Nkiruka Ofodile, congratulated the new officials explaining that no association progress without cooperation.
He urged them to cooperate with members in the spirit of love and affection in the interest of the association just as she assured them the support of the national body of the union.
Speaking separately, the state Director-General of the Pension Bureau, Musa Nagogo represented by the Director of Account and Supply, Musa Aboki, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs represented by Clement Alu, the state PRO of the union, Abdullahi Ladan Adokwe commended the state women desk association of the Union for their resilience and called on newly Inaugurated officials to live above board, assuring them of their unflinching support.
