Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed engages stakeholders on distribution of palliatives

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has assured that people of the state would soon receive palliative items courtesy of the N5billion allocated to States by the federal government.

The Governor disclosed this shortly after meeting behind closed doors with the implimentation and distribution committee members at the government house on Monday.

He said that the Committee members are drawn from the Organised labor, relevant ministries department and agencies of government, market men and women as well as members of the traditional groups in the state.

He urged people of the state to continue to support his administration to enable it succeed and that his administration would be just and fair in the distribution process.

Briefing Journalists after the Committee’s inaugural meeting, Bala Mohammed said his Deputy Muhammad Auwal Jatau is to chair the committee.

According to Governor, issues of workers retirement benefits, Cash Transfer as well as procurement of bushes, motorcycles and trycicles to ease transportation challenges are also part of the parliativive exercise.

He charged the committee to ensure transparency and accountability in the entire process.

The committee is expected to complete it’s assignment in two weeks time to allow for the commencement of the distribution exercise.

The committee compromises officials from relevant bodies including the state Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Youth and Sports Development, Members of the Organized Labour as well as religious and traditional leaders.
