Kebbi Governor’s wife, Nafisa Idris urges women to embrace modern maternal healthcare system

The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris has appealed to pregnant women to always attend antenatal care to avail their babies the best medication in order to ensure they lived healthy lives in the society.

Hajiya Nafisa Idris also stressed that only a healthy society could build a prosperous nation therefore urged women to ensure that they present theier children to vaccination centres against child killer diseases as well as forestall maternal mortality.

The wife of the Governor who was addressing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, said some of the inherent benefits of going to hospitals for healthcare issues included safe delivery by pregnant women besides welfare packages to both the mother and the baby.

She said her recent visit to Fati Lami women and children hospital to welcome first baby of the year, a female, put to bed at 6.30 am, Monday 1/1/2024, by Hajiya Fa’iza Ibrahi was an indication to that effect because she gave personal donation to the baby.

Hajiya Nasifa Idris further stated that she also witnessed the birth of the second baby and a set of triplets put to bed by Zara’u Usman and Hauwa’u Aliyu Diggi respectively, saying the recognition of their historic periods of birth was achieved because their deliveries were at the hospital

The Governor’s wife said she had presented N500,000, baby’s clothes, milk, nets, diapers, soap, and feeding bottles to the baby of the year, the second baby of the year got N200,000 and baby’s items, while the triplets, were given N3000,000 and baby’s items.
