Kebbi Police Command assures protection of lives, property during Eid-il Kabir festivities

The Kebbi State Police Command says adequate security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a hitch-free Eid-il Kabir celebrations in the state, urging the citizens to cooperate with the law enforcement agents to achieve the set objectives.

In a statement signed by the Command’s Spokesman, SP Nafiu Abubakar and made available to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, it said all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders have been directed to dominate the State with overt and covert security deployments.

The statement indicated that the action was designed to safeguard the lives and property of the peace loving people of Kebbi State, as well as ensuring adequate security coverage at all worship and recreational centres where Muslims were observing their religious rites and children immersed in merrymaking.

The Command further called on the good people of the State to use this period of celebrations for sober reflection and to offer prayers for the peace and progress of the State and the nation at large, adding that through fervent prayers Nigeria would overcome the existing hard times.

While felicitating with all muslims for a blissful Eid-il Kabir celebration, the Command called on the religious leaders, worshippers and residents of the State to as usual, cooperate with the Police and other security agencies in the state, saying their cooperation was vital for securing a peaceful society.

The statement however stressed that trouble makers with the evil intentions to disturb the celebrations were warned to stay away from the state or face the full wrath of the law accordingly.
