Anambra Governor Soludo mourns death of journalist Alphonsus Nweze, commiserates with correspondents’ chapel

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Mr. Alphonsus Nweze, a dedicated journalist with Apex News Exclusive and a prominent member of the Anambra State Correspondents’ Chapel.
In a condolence message issued by his Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, the Governor described Nweze’s passing as a tragic and painful loss not only to his immediate family and colleagues but also to the broader media community and Anambra State at large.
“On behalf of the Government of Anambra State, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Correspondents’ Chapel and the entire media fraternity on the untimely demise of Mr. Alphonsus Nweze,” the statement read.
Governor Soludo recalled Nweze’s unwavering commitment to journalism, praising his dedication to truth, integrity, and public service through his reporting.
“Alphonsus was more than just a journalist he was a courageous voice for the truth and an advocate for responsible journalism. His contributions significantly shaped the media landscape in Anambra,” the Governor stated.
Mr. Nweze reportedly lost his life in a fatal road accident along the Onitsha-Asaba Expressway on Tuesday afternoon. His death has sent shockwaves through the media community and beyond.
The Governor further offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Nweze’s soul and extended sympathy to his bereaved family, friends, colleagues at Apex News Exclusive and members of the Correspondents’ Chapel.
“We will deeply miss his presence, his voice, and his dedication to duty. May God grant his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement concluded.
