Breaking: Relief as Kebbi Deputy Speaker released from captivity, united with family

The Kebbi State Government has announced the safe rescue of the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Samaila Muhammad Bagudu, from captivity by joint security forces.
This was discussed by the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida, in statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday night.
He said: “This development is a testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of its citizens at all costs,
“Government is relieved to confirm that Hon. Samaila is in good health and high spirits, and receiving all necessary support and care. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the joint security forces for their tireless efforts in ensuring the successful rescue operation.”
Tafida further stated that Kebbi State Government had reiterated its determination to continue working closely with security agencies to combat the menace of banditry and other forms of insecurity in the state, “we will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to create a safe and secure environment for all citizens and residents of State.”
In light of the development, he said Government had appealed to all citizens to continue to support security agencies in their efforts to maintaining peace and security in the state, urging everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities for necessary actions.
The released Deputy Speaker was kidnapped on Friday last week, shortly after observing Isha prayers at a mosque near his house in his home town, Bagudo.
