Kebbi Governor Idris crowns new state Chief Farmer at Argungu 2026 festival

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has crowned the Commissioner of Agriculture, Shehu Mu’azu, as the new Chief Farmer for year 2026 during the Agricultural Fair Actually as part of the ongoing Argungu International dimensional Fishing and Cultural Festival holding in Argungu.
Mu’azu replaced Abdullahi Maigandu Argungu a former Programme Manager of Kebbi Agricultural And Rural Development Authority during governor Muhammed Adamu Aleiro’s administration.
Speaking shortly, governor Idris informed the gathering at the Agric-Fair held in Argungu town that government decided to turbaned the Commissioner due to his vast experiences which contributed to the development of agricultural sector across the state.
He added that he appointed him as Commissioner for Agriculture because of his credentials as a practicing seasoned farmer and his immense contributions generally to farming for food security in Kebbi.
“I am therefore calling on farmers in the state to give the new Sarkin Noma full support and cooperation he deserves to improve on his present achievement”, the Governor stressed.
The new Chief Farmer also the Commissioner of Agriculture, Shehu Muazu, thanked the governor for the throne which he described as a history that repeated itself in Zuru emirate after it produced the first and the famous Sarkin Noma in the person of late Ali Namani Kotoko.
He noted that the throne will encourage him to do more on Agricultural sector in state.
