Three children found dead at native doctor’s residence in Anambra, police launch investigation

Three children have been found dead at the residence of a female native doctor, popularly known as an Ezenwanyi, in Ideani Community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The tragic discovery, which occurred at Umuoduba Village, has thrown residents of the community into shock, with many awaiting the outcome of an official investigation.

According to sources in the community, the bodies of three children, believed to be between the ages of six and 15, were discovered within the premises of the woman. A fourth person was reportedly found alive at the location and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

The identities of the deceased have not yet been established, while the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear. Community sources suggested that the children may have either been working at the residence, where the woman reportedly keeps pigs and poultry, or could be members of her family. However, these claims have not been officially confirmed.

The female native doctor has been arrested and is currently in the custody of the Ogidi Police Division as investigations continue. The bodies of the deceased children have been deposited in a mortuary pending further examination.

Videos circulating on social media show police officers inspecting the residence after the discovery, while the suspect was seen being escorted away by security personnel.

As of the time of filing this report, the Anambra State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident or disclosed the identity of the suspect.
