The Adamawa Police Command has arrested a 30-years man for allegedly killing his biological father and threw the corpse into the well.
The suspect, simply called as Peter, resides in Sangere in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The Command in a statement signed by the image maker, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje detailed that the suspect was arrested following a report received by operatives of the Command.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly killed his biological father and disposed of the body in a well within the community.
The Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Umar Hassan, has ordered a discreet and thorough investigation into the matter to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The corpse has been recovered and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
CP Hassan condemned the act in the strongest terms and reassures the public of the Command’s commitment to ensure justice is served.
He urged members of the public to always seek lawful and peaceful means of resolving family disputes and to seek appropriate intervention whenever conflicts arise.
He said the suspect will soon be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation and pledged further developments will be communicated in due course.
