Kebbi business community pledges 2027 support for Governor Idris, President Tinubu over economic gains

Members of the Kebbi State business community resident across Nigeria have resolved to reciprocate what they described as the “unmeasurable support” of Governor Nasir Idris’ administration by mobilizing for his re-election and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The pledge was made on Sunday in Abuja when the Governor’s media team, led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed BK, met with major stakeholders and business leaders from Kebbi State.
Speaking during the advocacy and networking engagement, National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi, said the business community had recorded remarkable growth in the last three years due to direct interventions by the Idris administration.
According to him, beneficiaries across various sectors have received business intervention, settlement of outstanding contract debts, facilitation of profitable partnerships with investors, and skills acquisition training for small and medium scale entrepreneurs.
“For me, he solidly stood by me, committed his time and energy as well as used his network of friends and associates as a labour leader to campaign for my emergence as the National President of IPMAN,” Maigandi said.
He also holds the traditional title of JAKADAN Gwandu.
Maigandi cited transformation in critical sectors of infrastructure, education, agriculture, and result-oriented economic empowerment programmes as key factors that turned around the economic fortunes and well-being of the people.
He announced that the Kebbi State chapter of IPMAN had resolved to provide free petroleum products for vehicles to be used for the electioneering campaigns of President Tinubu and Governor Idris throughout the campaign period in kebbi state.
In addition, he said members of the business community would be fully mobilized to participate actively in the conduct of the election at their respective electoral wards and local government areas.
“While members of other sectors of businesses are still discussing the type of support they will give to the Governor, we in IPMAN have already taken a position,” he added.
Earlier, Commissioner Yakubu Ahmed BK said the visit was aimed at showcasing the socio-economic transformation undertaken by Governor Idris and engaging critical stakeholders on the need to consolidate and enhance the development achieved so far.
The business leaders said the increase in turnover and expansion of business transactions recorded by beneficiaries was another basis for their decision to support the continuity of the current administration in 2027.
