Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), on the occasion of his 85th birthday, describing him as a statesman whose contributions have left a lasting imprint on Nigeria’s political and administrative history.
Governor Radda, in a congratulatory message, particularly acknowledged General Babangida’s historic role in the creation of Katsina State on September 23, 1987, alongside Akwa Ibom State, saying the decision opened a new chapter of growth and development for the people of Katsina.
“The people of Katsina State will always remember General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida for giving our state its identity and creating the opportunity for our people to chart their own course of development.
That singular decision remains one of the defining moments in our history,” the Governor said.
Governor Radda noted that over the years, General Babangida has remained a respected national figure whose years of service and leadership continue to occupy an important place in Nigeria’s history.
“As you celebrate your 85th birthday, we join your family, friends and millions of Nigerians in thanking Almighty Allah for a life of service to our country.
We pray that He grants you good health, peace of mind and many more years filled with His mercy and blessings,” Governor Radda added.
On behalf of the Government and good people of Katsina State, Governor Radda wished the former Military President a happy birthday and prayed for his continued well-being.
