The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, Engineer Ahmad Faruk, has declared that there is “no vacancy” in the Kebbi State Government House ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Engineer Faruk made the declaration in Abuja while receiving the Kebbi State Governor’s Media Team being led by the Commissioner of Information Yakubu Ahmed Bk on a nationwide advocacy and engagement visit to major media organisations and critical stakeholders on the sustainable development of Kebbi State.
He described those aspiring for the governorship position in 2027 as “jobseekers and busybodies with no genuine interest of the state at heart.”
The NAMA MD lauded Comrade Governor Nasir Idris as “a phenomenon, a legend, courageous personality and a game changer” who has set a new benchmark in governance worthy of emulation by future leaders in the state.
According to him, having witnessed the administration of all governors of Kebbi State since its creation 24 years ago, both military and civilian, “none of them was loved and admired compared to Governor Nasir Idris.”
Engineer Faruk attributed this to the governor’s selfless service and execution of impactful developmental projects that have transformed the socio-economic well-being of the people. He particularly noted the governor’s free farming inputs policy, which he said has positioned Kebbi State as a major contributor to national food security.
“Kebbi State is lucky to have Comrade Governor Nasir Idris at this time in the history of the state’s journey to an enviable position in Nigeria,” he said.
The NAMA boss described critics of the Idris administration as “detractors and retrogressive elements that specialise in deception and employment of political gimmicks to achieve selfish political interest.” He challenged opposition elements to show visible support to security agencies and victims of banditry instead of criticizing government efforts.
He further alerted the people of Kebbi State to beware of “self centred and desperate politicians” who he alleged are planning to rig the election through “the criminal activities of cyber cafe.”
It could be recalled that a major faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state under the leadership of former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, Rtd, and the party’s 2023 governorship candidate Maj-Gen Sarkin Yaki Bello have recently declared support for Governor Nasir Idris to continue beyond 2027.
He maintained that considering the unprecedented development achieved across all sectors, it would have been a “walkover” for Governor Idris if not for the constitutional requirement of elections.
