Major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State have continued to reaffirm their “absolute confidence” in the re-election of Comrade Governor Nasir Idris, in the 2027, based on his uncommon impactful nature of his leadership.
The latest assurance came from the Managing Director of the Hydro Power Development Commission (HYPADEC) and a leading APC stakeholder in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa.
He made the remarks during a parley in Abuja, with the Kebbi State Governor’s Media Team on nationwide advocacy and engagement tour to major media organizations and critical stakeholders in the governance of Kebbi State.
Alhaji Yelwa said his conviction is rooted in the people’s acknowledgement of the “unprecedented development” recorded across all sectors of the state’s economy within barely two years of the present administration.
According to him, individuals and groups from both the public and private sectors have been trooping to Birnin Kebbi to express appreciation to the Governor for turning around the socio-economic fortunes of their communities
He identified the commendations as coming from traditional and religious leaders, women and youth organizations, labour unions, the academic community, trade unions, agro-allied industries, and notable elder statesmen, cutting across ethnic, religious, and political divides.

Citing specific achievements, the HYPADEC MD listed among others, regular payment of scholarships, and clearance of scholarship debt backlog, construction of new and rehabilitation of dilapidated educational institutions, Payment of backlog of pensions and gratuity, Provision of free farming inputs to farmers,Construction and rehabilitation of general hospitals and primary healthcare centers, implementation of various economic empowerment support programmes and People-oriented welfarism initiatives in just one term tenure.
“These and many other incentives not mentioned have made the people feel indebted and eagerly waiting to reciprocate in 2027. Besides, the interest of the people in his re-election supersedes his personal interest as it were, “Yelwa stated.
On HYPADEC’s relationship with the state government, he noted ongoing areas of collaboration, particularly in the provision of portable water and means of transportation for riverine communities in Kebbi State.
It will be recalled that the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engineer Ahmad Faruk, had earlier declared that “there is no vacancy in Kebbi State Government House” in view of the remarkable development being achieved and the people’s conviction in Governor Idris’ capacity and sincerity.

Earlier, the leader of the Governor’s Media Team and Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, said the tour was aimed at showcasing Governor Idris’ giant strides that have changed the narrative of development in the state, and to seek the contributions of patriotic stakeholders, genuinely interested in the sustainance of the development being achieved in the governance of Kebbi State.
