Maulid: ADC Nasarawa South Senatorial candidate, Engr. Elayo felicitates with Muslims, preaches peace, unity ahead 2027 polls
The African Democratic Congress, (ADC), candidate for Nasarawa South Senatorial District in the 2027 election, Engineer Ishaq Elayo, has felicitated with Muslims in the district and across Nasarawa State on the occasion of Eid-ul-Maulid.
On the occasion, he called for renewed commitment to the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, (SAW).
In a goodwill message issued in Lafia on Monday, Elayo described Maulid as more than a celebration, noting that it is a time for reflection on the life of the Prophet as a model of compassion, honesty, tolerance, and service to humanity.
“As we mark the birth of the Holy Prophet, let us imbibe his virtues of humility, justice and love. Let us be our brother’s keeper, enhance good neighbourliness, promote love among families and communities, and check each other’s back in times of need,” he said.
The senatorial hopeful urged Muslims to use the period to pray for peace and progress in Nasarawa South and Nigeria at large, stressing that the district can only thrive when people of different faiths live in harmony.
With political campaigns for 2027 gradually gathering momentum, Elayo appealed to politicians and supporters across party lines to shun blackmail, thuggery, and politics of bitterness.
“We must do politics without hatred. Let us promote issue-based campaigns and good living. The future of Nasarawa South is too important to be sacrificed on the altar of violence and division,” he added.
Elayo said genuine leadership is what the district needs at the Senate, promising to promote unity among all religious sects and to attract development that cuts across communities.
He noted that his commitment to service did not start with politics, pointing to the medical outreaches he has been organizing for residents of the district even before declaring his ambition.
“Leadership is about service. We have been reaching out through free medical outreaches because the health of our people matters,” Elayo stated.
The ADC candidate assured constituents that if elected, he will prioritize education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and peaceful coexistence to ensure Nasarawa South gets effective representation.
He prayed that the blessings of Eid-ul-Maulid bring joy, prosperity and lasting peace to every home in the district.
