The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has clarified that candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results are not required to re-upload them or obtain a verification code under the new system.
The Board said in a statement signed by its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, that it received numerous complaints from candidates who were worried about the status of their results.
It noted that many of the concerns came from candidates who uploaded their O’Level results during the current registration exercise, those who uploaded after the release of the WAEC results, and those who uploaded in previous years under the old process.
According to JAMB, all O’Level results uploaded through the old process remain valid and will continue to be recognised on the Board’s platform.
The Board explained that candidates in this category are therefore not required to take any further action regarding the verification code.
JAMB stated that the new verification process was introduced to further strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and ensure that no falsified result is accepted into the admission process.
It added that for candidates whose results were uploaded under the previous process, the results already available on the Board’s portal remain valid and will be subjected to the appropriate verification process by the institutions where necessary.
The Board advised candidates not to panic or make unnecessary repeat uploads of their O’Level results simply because they were uploaded before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.
JAMB assured all affected candidates that their previously uploaded results remain valid and will be available for consideration in the admission process, subject to the required verification by the respective institutions.
