The Accountant-General of Kaduna State, Alhaji Gambo Musa Ilallah, has distributed food items, including bags of rice and cooking oil, to women, the elderly and other vulnerable residents of Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.
The gesture was part of a humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting low-income families and easing the hardship faced by vulnerable members of the community.
Speaking on the objective of the intervention, the Accountant-General’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Shehu Zango, said the gesture was part of the humanitarian activities undertaken by Ilallah in line with the Kaduna State Government’s efforts to support people in need.
He called on other government and political office holders at various levels to emulate the Accountant-General by supporting vulnerable members of society.
Also speaking, the representative of the Christian Association in Jema’a Local Government Area, Ben Amos Ayuba, commended the Accountant-General for what he described as his concern for the welfare of residents without discrimination.
Similarly, an APC chieftain in Kaduna State, Alhaji Ibrahim Koli, commended the initiative and linked it to the administration’s welfare programmes. He urged the beneficiaries to recognise and support policies and programmes aimed at sustaining social welfare interventions and improving the wellbeing of residents.
Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Accountant-General, saying the assistance came at a time when many families were facing economic difficulties.
They also urged the organisers to sustain such initiatives to support vulnerable people across the state.
