The decision was taken at a meeting of the Board of Trustees chaired by the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami, Sami Gomo III, at his palace on Monday.
According to a statement signed by Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Sadaukin Zuru, the dissolution was due to ineffectiveness and lukewarm attitude of the leadership toward peace, unity, development, and security in the emirate. Since assuming office in 2022, with no record of contribution to education, socio-economic, infrastructure, or security.
The Emirate Council noted that the leaders had distanced themselves from the people remaining in Abuja, Kaduna, Lagos, and Kano, looking for dark spots for unpatriotic criticism, thereby exhibiting insensitivity to the plight of the people.
The Emirate Council further observed that the dissolved leadership have sadly, failed to be undertaken regular contact and consultations with the community leaders and other stakeholders with a view to complement government efforts in the provision of critical infrastructures and the present security challenges.
A new leadership under Alhaji Yusuf Wade as National President has been appointed and mandated to reposition ZEDS to complement government efforts through infrastructure provision, monthly levies from indigenes nationwide, engagement with mining companies on Corporate Social Responsibility MOUs, and inclusive, non-partisan development across all ethnic and religious communities, taking into consideration the non-partisan position of the Emir of Zuru who is a leader and father to all.
Alhaji Yusuf Wade is an experienced education administrator who retired as a director in the Ministry of Education and previously served as secretary of a committee that comprised of 16 professors chaired by Prof. Attahiru Jega on educational improvement.
In attendance at the meeting included Major-General(Senator Muhammad Magoro Galadiman Zuru, Lieutenant General Ishaya Bamaiyi Uban Yakin Zuru, Justice Danlami Zama Senchi Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, members of the emirate council, the five Chiefdoms of the emirate, local government Chairmen and District heads.
