Family, associates remember slain philanthropist Lucky Adimike on posthumous 54th birthday
Family members, friends and associates of the late businessman and philanthropist, Mr Lucky Chinedu Godwin Adimike, have commemorated what would have been his 54th birthday, celebrating his contributions to the Church, community and humanity.
Adimike, who was killed at his residence in Abuja, would have turned 54 on Wednesday, October 6, 2026.
Despite his death, family members and associates said his legacy of philanthropy and Christian service continues to live on through the people and institutions he supported during his lifetime.
Adimike was described as a devout Christian who believed that wealth should be used to serve God and improve the lives of others.
He was said to have supported several Church projects and served as a major benefactor of the Faithspiration Initiative, a charity organisation founded by his younger brother, Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike.
He also contributed to priestly formation by supporting Blessed Tansi Major Seminary and All Hallows Seminary, both in Onitsha, where he assisted in the training and formation of seminarians.
In his hometown, Awka-Etiti, Anambra State, Adimike reportedly funded the construction of the Father’s House at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Infant Jesus Grotto in the parish.
He was also credited with reviving the Block Rosary Crusade and Marian devotion in the community, as well as renovating the Awka-Etiti Town Hall and providing regular assistance to residents.
His philanthropic activities extended beyond religious institutions. He reportedly awarded scholarships to indigent children, empowered youths and adults with business capital, supported families financially and assisted parents struggling to educate their children.
Adimike was also particularly known for supporting women and children. According to his associates, he regularly settled medical bills for women who delivered at Fatima Hospital, Awka-Etiti, including those who underwent Caesarean sections, while also assisting pregnant women with antenatal expenses.
Friends and associates described him as a successful businessman who remained humble and committed to helping the less privileged.
They said his generosity earned him a reputation as a bridge between the wealthy and the poor, a father figure to many and a Christian who demonstrated his faith through his actions.
As they marked his posthumous 54th birthday, family members and associates said they chose to celebrate his life and enduring legacy rather than mourn without hope.
One of the tributes to the late philanthropist read: “Though you were murdered, your goodness was never murdered. Though you are gone, your charity lives on.”
They prayed for the continued repose of his soul, describing his contributions to humanity as a legacy that would endure for generations.
