The Nasarawa chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and four other groups on Friday held a rally in support of the governorship aspiration of Mr Silas Agara, the state’s Deputy Governor.

Speaking on behalf of the groups, Mr Adih Abubakar said that the rally was to drum support for Agara and also draw the attention of APC delegates to his sterling qualities.

“We also believe that he will build on the legacies of his boss, Gov. Umaru Al-Makura, having worked with him for a long time.
“Nasarawa State requires a leader that is open, proactive, pragmatic and God fearing. We see these qualities in Agara,” he said.
The groups called for transparent primary election, saying that it was the only way to guarantee APC’s success in the secondary election.
Responding, Malam Musa Omaki, the Director-General of the Agara campaign organisation, appreciated the groups for the support, and lauded their orderly conduct.
NAN reports that Agara, along with nine other aspirants, will vie for the APC governorship ticket at the party primary election scheduled for Sept. 30. (NAN)
