COVID-19 pandemic: 464 poor, vulnerable farmers in Bauchi’s Bogoro local government get N-CARES support palliative

464 poor and vulnerable farmers in Bogoro LGA of Bauchi State have been identified to benefit from the Nigeria COVID-19 pandemic Action Recovery Economic Stimulus, N-CARES.

The disclosure was made by the Coordinator of the program, Mr Danladi Simon while interacting with newsmen in his office in Bogoro contained in a statement by Gomna James, Information Officer of the LGA.

He stated that the N-CARES is the initiative of the the Federal Government and World Bank in collaboration with the Bauchi State Government aimed to alleviate the hardship caused as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He explained that the N-CARES target mainly the poor and vulnerable rural Farmers with a view to supporting them with farm inputs and other Agricultural assets in order for them to return to their normal economic activities.

Danladi Simon also revealed that the beneficiaries were selected from all the thirteen wards in the local government area.

He then thanked the Bogoro Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Iliya Habila for his unrelenting efforts to ensuring that rural farmers in Bogoro benefitted from the program.

He confirmed that the beneficiaries which comprises of men and women farmers divided in group of ten will get agricultural inputs like, Seeds, Agro Chemicals, Fertilizer, Knapsack Sprayer, Feed’s, Vaccines, Disinfectant, Crops including Maize, rice, sorghum, g/nut, soybean as well as Livestock including Goat, sheep, poultry and aquaculture. 

The beneficiaries will be trained on how to apply modern but simple techniques in farming to boost harvest at the end of the farming season.
