Action in the semi finals between Nasarawa United vs Sectraco FC, Abuja Friday

The artificial turf of Area 3 playing ground Abuja will this afternoon see hybrid action as Nasarawa United FC, Lafia tackles EFCC FC, Abuja in the finals of the 2022 Unity Pre-Season Tournament.
EFCC FC knocked out Lobi Stars FC, Makurdi 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in the cracker in the second semi-finals on Friday.
Earlier in the first encounter, enterprising Nasarawa United edged out hard-fighting Abuja-based Setraco FC by a lone scored in the 29th minute by Oche Josiah.
It will be a match of wits as both sides seek to lift the trophy for the first time. In last year’s edition, the Nasarawa lads came close losing to Plateau United FC, Jos by a lone goal in the finals.


In a statement by Nasarawa United Media Officer, Eche Amos, to reach the finals, the Solid Miners beat Mailantarki FC 2-0 in their opening group game; defeated Like Minds FC 2-1 in their last group match before pipping City FC 1-0 in the Quarter-finals.
According to the Media Officer, with experienced Coach Bala Nikyu still in charge of the Solid Miners, the aim will be to win the 2022/23 edition of the Pre-Season Tournament as a reward for his sides’ resilience and persistence.
The Pre-season is a preparatory ground to lay solid fitness foundations for the team’s success in a long football league season which is expected to commence soon.
