Governor Fintiri of Adamawa State

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri Adamawa State has approved N19.7bn for the construction of Jimeta Modern Shopping Complex in Yola North Local Government.
It would be recalled that market was built before 1984 but was destroyed by the Maitatsine riot and reconstructed and built in 1996.
The Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Iliya James disclosed this during the resolution of the government to newsmen after the council meeting presided over by Governor Fintiri.
Mr James said the contract of the project was awarded to three contractors and will be completed within the contractual agreement of twenty months.
The Commissioner of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Dr Ishaya Dabari said the new market will comprise shops, fire service, police station and administrative buildings among others.
The project has commenced with the construction of drainages.
