The Katsina FA Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi says Nigerians won’t accept any excuse if the country’s new Super Eagles Coach Jose Peseiro fails to win today’s Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Sierra Leone in Abuja.
He said both Coach Peseiro and NFF President, Amaju Pinnick should know that Nigerians will never accept any other round of apology again as it is either they win the match and trophies for Nigeria or leave.
He made the remarks in a statement to sports journalists in Abuja Thursday.
“Despite the apologies by NFF President to Nigerians, which is not enough, the Super Eagles need to win every single match,” Kurfi popularly known as Dan Arewa said.
He explained that it is very sad that Nigeria did not qualify for the World Cup to be hosted in Qatar and the only chance now is to qualify for the Nations Cup.
The FA chairman expressed concern that the Super Eagles lost two friendly matches against Mexico and Ecuador under Coach Peseiro which is not good for Nigeria’s image.
He threatened that anything short of victory will heighten suspicion of compromise which is akin to national sabotage and will be treated very seriously even at the apex sports body.
