The chairman of Congress for Civil Society Groups, Comrade Damian Ugwudike, has accused the executive arm of government in the country of working hard to introduce anarchy in the society.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Onitsha, Anambra State, Comrade Ogudike who is a prominent member of CLO said that given the penchant by the executive arm of government to undermine the laws of the land it is difficult for the members of civil society organizations to work in concert with the security agents and other relevant agencies in the country.

He said “You know the truth of the matter is that the law of the country is not something to write home about. The Executive Arm of Government has virtually bastardized the laws”.

Ogudike said the executive arm is controlling the security agencies, “so if the head is not good, how can the leg and hand function very well”.

The activist said this was the reason there can’t be robust relationship between rights groups and security agencies because the executive arm has vowed not to follow the rule of law.

“And when law is not followed. When people are not following the rule of law,it means anarchy would take over the society.

He lamented that human rights groups in South East and Anambra State in particular have been failed in their duties of checkmating rights abuses and tyranny in the conduit of government activities.

He said apart from the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Anambra State branch, he has not seen any other rights group in the State or other South East States which observed Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which normally holds every December, saying that failure to observe the human rights day amount to failing in their duties.
