Anambra community agog as Pa Nosike goes home in style

Umunbo community in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State recorded a large gathering of eminent personalities during the burial of late Chief Bernard Ajana Nosike.
Aged 96, Chief Nosike was the father of Engineer Emmanuel Nosike, the Director Transmission, Federal Ministry of Power, Abuja.
The burial mass took place at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Umumbo, and was followed by interment in Nosike’s family compound in Uga Village, Umumbo, Ayamelum Local Government Area of the State.

The burial attracted different politicians and government officials in Oyi – Ayamelum and others from various diverse backgrounds.
It also recorded presence of several friends of Engineer Nosike who came in their numbers from within and outside the state to commiserate with him on the death his father.
Speaking to newsmen, Parish Priest of St. Mary, Aguleri, Rev. Fr. Martin Atumanya, described Pa Nosike as a blessed one in many angles, noting that the gathering was to thank God for the good life He gave the deceased.

He admonished Christians to prepare their lives while alive, as no one knows when it would be his turn to die. He then enjoined the family to continue in the tradition of love bequeathed to them by their late father.
In his address, Engineer Emmanuel Anosike, described the late father as a peaceful man that directs and mentors others. “He was the man that spent all his pensions to train all of us. He left us with the legacy to help the those who are less privileged and who have the need so that his family would be loved.
Late Nosike’s wife, Regina, described her late husband as a very caring man. “Since I was married into the family, I have not had any quarrel with him like other women experience in their matrimonial homes. He was different and anybody that saw me knows that I was living with a man.”
It was also tributes galore from other family and community members in honour of the deceased.
Mrs Chioma Nosike, wife of Engineer Emmanuel Nosike, said her late father in-law was a man of peace. According to her, one principle that the decease was known for was his patience and calmness even in midsts of troubles and challenges.
The president general Umumbo Progressive Union, Barr Paul Okoye, referred late chief Nosike as a humble, responsible and hardworking man.”he was one of the first set of people that went to school and also the pioneer,,, educationists in this community.”
Chairman Catholic Men’s Organization, Umumbo, Mr Stanley Onyibo said the deceased was an active member of the church and played a fatherly role in the organization. He also prayed that the death of the deceased bring prosperity and health to the family he left behind.
Speaking on behalf of Umumbo Catholic Women Organization, Nwakobu Gloria said the deceased was a good teacher who devoted his time on earth in training others. She said the huge crowd at the burial was a testament of the kind of life he lived.
Pascal Chinedu Nwakobu said he learnt to live an exemplary life from the deceased grandfather and to train one’s children so as to reap the fruit at the retirement age and death.
Stephen Ndife urged the family to take heart as it is rightful for a son to bury father. He prayed God to bless the family to live in the footsteps of the father and to continue to impact lives as their father did in his lifetime.
Zenith Labour Party candidate for Oyi/ Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu said he came to commiserate with his good friend, Engineer Nosike and family on the death of their father.
He prayed God to console them as well as give them the fortitude to bear the loss. He also admonished the living to live as if today is their last and work as if today is not their last.
