Archbishop Okeke urges Christians to uphold spirit of charity, justices

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Reverend Dr. Valerian Okeke has urged Christians to imbibe the spirit of charity and ensure practice of justice for a better society.
Most Rev. Okeke gave the charge in his Christmas message to Christians as they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
According to Archbishop Okeke, Christians ought to reflect on the mystery and reincarnation of Jesus Christ and reminded Christians that the Lord is near.
He said Christmas is a period of peace, joy and reconciliation, hence the need for the citizenry and the affluent to extend good hands of fellowship to the less privileged and vulnerable members of the society.
The Prelate while calling on nations  communities to embrace the peace of the new born Messiah, encouraged Christians to be
convinced that their enemies are cast away.
Archbishop Okeke reminded the citizenry of the need to uphold truth and benevolence, desisting from acts capable of depriving people of their rights and called on those in leadership positions not to abuse power and privileges.
He lamented that abuse of justice and absence of peace has endangered peaceful coexistence.
The Archbishop cautioned against issues that will create violence in the polity, charging people not to hinder divine blessings by engaging in social vices.
Most Reverend Okeke prayed for God’s blessings, protection and journey mercy upon the visitors entering the state for the yuletide celebrations.
