Arrangements have been concluded for the commencement of the 1st edition of Atiku Abubakar U-18 Football Tournament in Bauchi State.
The Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Usman Baba told sportswriters in Bauchi that the opening ceremony took place on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
He said 20 teams from all the 20 local government areas of Bauchi state are expected to participate in the competition, which will be decided in three centers namely, Bauchi, Azare and Ningi.
Usman Baba explained that already draws of the competition has been held where teams were grouped into five, which will be decided on league basis to select the best teams that will reach the second round of the competition.
He stated that the aim of the competition is to promote sporting activities, as well as to support the youth of the state to engage in meaningful activities that will brighten their future.
He assured that reasonable prizes await the winners of the competition, calling on all the participating teams to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the competition.
