Yankari Games Reserves is a popular tourist attraction in Bauchi State
Bauchi State Tourism Board has embarked on tourism resource identification exercise across the eleven existing tourism sites.
This is contained in a statement signed by the General Manager of the Board, Nasir Yusuf, in Bauchi.
Yusuf said the 30-day exercise was designed to update the existing data on tourism sites and recommend areas of improvement.
He said the exercise would enable the management of the board to take inventory of the tourism resources by identifying areas that need government intervention.
The Manager said that a team of experts would visit tourism sites at Yankari game reserve in Alkaleri Local Government Area and Tafawa Balewa Tomb in Bauchi LGA.
He listed other sites to include the Sumu Wild Life Park, Babban Gwani in Ganjuwa LGA, Lame/Burra game reserve in Ningi, Kala Dulba Lake, Shira Hill and Malam Zaki Tomb in Zaki LGA.
Yusuf said the exercise would also cover the first mining site and Fanshanu Hill in Toro LGA as well as the first European camp in Itas Gadau LGA.
On the return of the Nigeria’s stolen Artefacts, Yusuf lauded the Government of the United Kingdom for the successful repatriation of the Aretefacts.
Yusuf described the gesture as ‘spectacular,’ saying, “this will further cement and solidify relationship between the two countries.” (NAN)
