Bauchi commends USAID/IHP for boosting healthcare delivery services

Bauchi State Government has commended USAID-funded Integrated Health Program (IHP) for complementing its efforts at boosting Healthcare services in the state.
The commendation was made by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Samaila Dahuwa while speaking at IHP Bauchi Pause and Reflect Learning Session held at Chartwell Hotel on Tuesday.
Represented by the Director, Public Health of the Ministry, Ibrahim Waziri, the Commissioner said that, “We are here to take a look back at what we have done in the past particularly what happened in the field” .
He stressed that, “The IHP is here to give us support, knowledge and increase our capacity in delivering healthcare services to our citizens. In fact, IHP has taken Bauchi State to the level that we appreciate and that we are feeling great due to their support.
Samaila Dahuwa further said that, “you know that whatever you do, you must take out time to reflect, evaluate to see where you have achieved, and where you need to gear up in order to bounce back and improve. We are ever ready to do everything possible to improve newborn health and family planning efforts”.
In his remarks, the Managing Director, Bauchi State Drugs and Medical Consumables Agency, Pharmacist Abdulkadir Ahmed commended USAID/IHP for contributing to the supply chain of the state saying that the partnership has gone a long way in strengthening the services of the agency.
Abdulkadir Ahmed however said that there is still room for more improvement in the partnership in order to achieve the objectives of government setting up the agency which he said is critical to the development of the health sector in the area of efficient and reliable drugs management.
