Bauchi Director of Sports dedicates outstanding performance at just concluded North East zonal elimination to Governor Mohammed

Bauchi State Director of Sports Usman Yusuf, has expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity given to the State to perform wonderfully at the just concluded north east zonal sports elimination at Jalingo Taraba State, in preparation for National Youths Games in Asaba Delta State.

Usman Yusuf made the expression on Tuesday while interacting with sports journalists in his office.

He said “I am proud to inform you that while in Jalingo Taraba State for the Zonal Elimination, Team Bauchi competed in 13 sporting events along with Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States. Our athletes outstanding Performance out shines our opponents which qualify us to represent the zone in Cricket Male team, Rugby Male and Female, Volleyball Female team, Handball Female team, Basketball Male and Female teams, Hockey Female team and Beach Volleyball Male and Female teams at the National Youths Games Asaba Delta State this Month”.

Also he said Team Bauchi won 5 golds and 8 silvers.

The Director Commended the efforts and commitments of athletes which attested to their appreciations of Bauchi State investment in sports.

Usman Yusuf said the success story of the outstanding Performance of the 222 team Bauch at the Taraba North East Zonal Elimination, was not unconnected with the moral and financial support rendered by the state’s number One Sports Man and people’s oriented Executive Governor Senator Bala Mohammed.

He further commended and appreciated the Governor for his Keen interest and desire to develop the state sports industry for purposeful development of the Youth in the state, considering sports as viable profession, political weapon for National Unity and in line with his “My Bauchi Agenda”.

The state director of Sports Usman Yusuf, therefore, said Governor Bala Mohammed as an Icon of sports in the north east and based on the above reasons he dedicated the five golds and eight silvers won at just concluded North East Zonal Elimination to the admirable Governor Mohammed.

The director however, commended the Bauchi State Commissioner of Sports Mohammed Salis Gamawa for his examplary leadership and been good Ambassador of Governor Mohammed in uplifting sporting activities and ensuring rivival of Bauchi State in maintaining it glorious name as Mecca of Sports in Nigeria.

He assured government and sports loving people of Bauchi State that, the state Contingents to the National Youths Games Asaba Delta State under his watch will not take the victory of Taraba for granted while in Asaba for the competition proper but will consolidate on the efforts to records more success to Bauchi State to justify government huge investment in the project.
