Ahead of the local government council election slated for Saturday 17 the August 2024, the Bauchi State Director National orientation Agency (NOA) Mrs Theresa Omaga has made case for a violence-free election.
The NOA boss in the state who spoke to our correspondent in Bauchi admonished prospective voters in the forthcoming Saturday Local Government polls to shun violence before, during and after the process.
The Director equally charged the Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOS) at the twenty local government areas to squarely engage the voters for a violent free election.
She maintained that anything that will breed violence during the election should not be condoned.
“Concerning the election, I want to advise the people of Bauchi, especially the voters on that day to shun violence. Election is not a do or dies affair and there must be a winner and a liser in every election. So, no one should be violent about the outcome of the election”, she said.
She explained that the National orientation agency will register its presence and closely monitor the conduct and outcome of the election insisting that people should comfort themselves in the most orderly manner.
The NOA director further enjoined the voters to get themselves acquainted with the right way of voting including where to thumbprint, the choice of party, its logo, among others.
