In his characteristics nature of Justice and fairness as replicated in his administration’s policy thrust, Comrade Governor Nasir Idris Kaura Garkuwan Zuru has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo as the new Emir of Zuru.
The governor’s swift approval, shortly after the submission of the Emirship election committee recommendation was conveyed to the new Emir in an appointment letter delivered by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida at the Emir’s palace in Zuru on Thursday.
Alhaji Tafida disclosed that Governor Nasir Idris has strictly adhered to the recommendations of the Emirship election committee, which he strongly believed represented the wish and interests of the people of the emirate.
At the brief presentation ceremony were the members of the emirate council and the election committee under the Chairmanship of Senator General Muhammadu Magoro, Galadiman Zuru, the five Chiefdoms in the emirate under the leadership of the Chief of Wasagu, Alhaji Muktar Musa who acted as the Emir for the brief period.
The state commissioners of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as well as Information and Culture, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Dutsin Mari and Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed respectively, accompanied the Secretary to the State Government to the presentation.
It was jubilation and expression of happiness by a mamoth crowd of people that received the new Emir at Dabai, when he had earlier returned from Birnin Kebbi.
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo lll, an Abuja-based successful entrepreneur, is expected to assume duty immediately before a turbaning ceremony to be organised, in due course.
Alhaji Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo lll, 58 years of age is a grandson to the late Emir Muhammadu Sami l, succeeded late Emir Muhammadu Sani Sami Gomo ll who passed away on August 16th, 2025, in London hospital.
