Governor Ortom, right, receives his nomination election results

Governor Samuel Ortom on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 received the results of his nomination as the Senatorial candidate of the PDP for Benue North West senatorial district from Dr Cletus Tyokyaa.
Governor Ortom was returned and nominated to contest the senate seat after the delegates unanimously voted for him in the 2023 general elections.
This was contained in a statement by Nathaniel Ikyur, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary.
