
Christian pilgrims arrive Jordan for spiritual journey, move to Israel after two days

The ninth batch of Christian pilgrims have arrived Queen Alia International airport, Amman, Jordan Thursday morning ahead of ten days spiritual journey that will also take them to Israel.
The about 362 pilgrims and other critical officials from the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja abound Air Anka at about 10: 20pm Wednesday arriving Amman at 5:15 am local time.
The pilgrims are taking rest Thursday and be taken some Holy Sites in Jordan on Friday and Saturday including Mount Tabor among others.
However, addressing the pilgrims before their departure, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite expressed satisfaction over the success of the 2024 Main Pilgrimage.
According to him, certain things that were not properly done were improved upon to the satisfaction of those that have performed the exercise.
He noted that so far the NCPC has uplifted more than 4000 people and nobody has absconded and this batch should not be.
He reminded the pilgrims that pilgrimage is a spiritual upliftment and a jamboree.
Bishop Adegbite thanked President Bola Tinubu for highly subsidizing the pilgrimage said any request he presents are approved.

He said God will renew pilgrims energy while in the Holy Land.
Earlier, an NCPC official spoke to pilgrims on the orientation in the Holy Land noted that the pilgrimage is solely for prayers and not for anything else.
He also noted that pilgrimage is not a jamboree but a spiritual journey.
Among those on Pilgrimage include Senator Yohanna Amos representing Adamawa North Senatorial District of Adamawa State and Ambassador Simon Dolly, Federal Commissioner representing North Central in the Board of NCPC.
The pilgrims are mainly from Nasarawa State but others are from FCT, Plateau State and others from the federal government.
