Christmas gift: Christian Association of Nigeria honours Emir of Zuru for leadership fairness, justice
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kebbi State Chapter has honored the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mikailu Sami Gomo lll, with the “Most Loved Emir Award” for his fairness and justice in governing the emirate without discrimination.
Emir’s open-door policy, accommodation, and compassion towards multi-ethnic and religious communities were recognized as qualities worthy of emulation.
While presenting the Award at a well-attended congregation, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) kebbi state chapter Dr Ayuba Y Kanta Yaji who is also the Anglican Bishop, Zuru Diocese stated that ” it is in acknowledgement of Your Highness’s leadership, deep connections with the people and your tireless commitment to unity, peace , Cultural preservation and community development across the Zuru emirate”
In his remarks, the Emir expressed gratitude and assured various ethnic and religious communities of his care and protection, stating that all residents are bonafide indigenes of Zuru emirate. He requested prayers for peace, unity, and an end to armed banditry in Kebbi State and Nigeria.
The Emir also praised Comrade Governor Nasir Idris as a detribalized and compassionate leader, citing the reconstruction of the Koko-Zuru federal road project. He congratulated Christians on Christmas and prayed for their prosperity.
The event, held at the United Missionary Catholic Association, Zuru, was attended by prominent Christian leaders, including former Chief of Army Staff and Sarkin Yakin Zuru Lieutenant General Isya Rizi Bamaiyi.
