Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has called on Christians to use the period of Christmas celebration to promote the principle of selflessness, love, compassion and goodwill as contained in their scriptures in order to build a harmonious and peaceful society.
Governor Idris made the call in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Yakubu BK made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
He further called upon the people of the state, regardless of religious affiliation, to continue offering their unwavering support and prayers for the government.
He stressed that support from the public was vital as government was working tirelessly to ensure the safety, economic prosperity, democratic strength, and social stability of Kebbi state, pointing out that the gesture would overcome challenges and build a better future for all.
“The fact that no society or community has progressed or developed in an atmosphere of rancor and conflict attests to the urgent need for us as a people, guided by common destiny as well as religious norms and values, to unite and work together in order to succeed together and be safe together.” Governor Idris stressed
The State Chief Executive went further by saying “As we come together to celebrate the festive season, let us also reaffirm our collective resolve to work towards a brighter future for Kebbi State. May the spirit of the teachings of Prophet Isa (AS) fill our hearts with hope, unity, and benevolence as we strive to build a more prosperous and inclusive society for all.”
Since the Governor Idris led Administration assumed office barely seven months ago, government actions were informed by the desire to build a state that will be the pride of all through incessant fight against banditry, infrastructural development in education, roads, health, agriculture and water resources, youth and women empowerment amongst many others.
