Corruption allegation: EFCC sends invitation to Pinnick

Mr Pinnick

Amaju Pinnick, the embattled former President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is expected to be the guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as he got an official invitation to make himself available for investigations on Tuesday.
Pinnick who is having some final matches roles lined up in Russia as by FIFA has been informed about the invitation and is expected to jet in soon to answer some questions.
A source in position to know told www.gongnews.net that a well respected coach had dragged him to the anti-graft agency. When the Secretary General of the NFF, Dr Mohammed Sanusi met the coach, there was bitter exchange of words between them why the coach had dragged his boss to the EFCC.
The invitation which is coming less than 24 hours after the Supreme Court bailiffs and policemen effected the orders of the highest court in the land which brought in Ambassador Chris Giwa is seen as a further instruction that Pinnick may have been sealed despite his attack of President Muhammadu Buhari not having the power to remove him.
From available information Amaju Pinnick may have to bring along the League Management Company (LMC) boss, Shehu Dikko, if he would be able to escape.
From the calendar of activities, Amaju Pinnick may not be able to attend to the EFCC until after the World Cup. He has been appointed match commissioner for Friday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup quarter final match between France and Uruguay in Nizhny Novgorod.
He will also be in charge of the first semi final match, scheduled for Saint Petersburg’s Zenit Arena on Tuesday, 10th July, as well as the third place match at the same venue on Saturday, 14th July. He can only be free to attend the matter after the end of the World cup.(Gongnews)
