By Akpan David, Calabar
The former secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Victor Ebong has been given elevation in his church as an Archbishop.
The promotion was announced recently by the spiritual leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu when he as international chairman of the organisation’s Men’s Fellowship, organised a successful mega Pilgrimage to Biakpan, birthplace of the founder of the spiritual Organization.
It was learnt that following the elevation and having completed five years as chairman of the men, Obu assigned him a bigger office.
Our sources confirmed that Ebong handed over to his successor, Silvester Eboigbe, a Christ’s Ambassador.
Ebong is said to have performed remarkably as chairman of men, taking them to prominence and had led them to visit many highly placed politicians and dignitaries in the country to pray for them
Speaking when he handed over, he said he never believed that God could use somebody like him who is a sinner to promote His works.
“I am a changed person. God loves me, a sinful man. He used me to bless many. I thank Him for the opportunity to serve. May He also used me as an Archbishop to bless many more men whether in the church or in Nigeria.”
